This project aims to improve the typographic section of p5.js library by fixing the issue flag on GitHub, adding new features, developing new examples for typography documentation, and interviewing creative coders for feedback. The goal is to enhance the functionality and versatility of P5.js, and ensure that it remains a valuable tool for creative coders and graphic designers.

Top Priority 🌸

Fixing Existing Problems

**🧰 = tackling 💀 = unsolvable/ignore**

The proposed project is a multifaceted endeavor that aims to tackle several important issues related to the popular P5.js library. The primary focus of this project is to address the issue flag on GitHub, which has been a source of frustration for many users. The project will involve working closely with other users to identify and fix issues as they arise, in order to improve the overall functionality of the library.

New Examples & Documentation

Another important aspect of this project will be the development of new examples for the P5.js typography documentation. Typography is an essential component of graphic design and creative coding, and this project aims to help users explore and experiment with typography in more creative ways. By providing a range of new examples and tutorials, this project will help users to expand their understanding of typography and its potential applications in creative coding

Researching & Future Dev

Finally, this project will involve researching other coding libraries and projects that have addressed typographic challenges in creative coding. By conducting interviews and consultations with creative coders who use P5.js as their primary tool for graphic design and creative coding, it will help to identify areas for improvement in the library, as well as use cases that have not yet been explored.

Adding New Features

In addition to fixing existing issues, this project will also involve adding new features to P5.js. These new features will be carefully discussed and planned in consultation with the mentor and P5 leads, in order to ensure that they align with the broader goals and vision of the library. Some potential areas of focus for new features include improved performance, enhanced typographic aspects (such as leading, tracking, variable fonts), and greater compatibility with other programming languages and platforms.
